TOMINTOUL 50 YEARS OLD ROBERT FLEMING FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE BOTTLING
Robert Fleming, Master Distiller at Tomintoul Distillery, was born and raised in the Speyside region of the Cairngorms National Park. His family history is steeped in the tradition of Scotch whisky distilling, a heritage that spans four generations.
Robert's journey in the Scotch whisky industry began in 1974, continuing the legacy of his great-grandfather, grandfather and father. In 1990, he brought his expertise to Tomintoul Distillery where, for over three decades, his dedication and mastery have refined the whisky famously known as ‘the gentle dram’.
With a career now spanning over 50 years, Robert Fleming has become a highly respected figure in the whisky world, celebrated for his unwavering commitment to quality and tradition.
This Tomintoul 50 Year Old has been matured in a Pedro Ximénez Sherry barrique, which Robert Fleming personally selected from the Ximénez-Spinola bodega in Jerez, Spain. Yielding only 253 decanters, bottled at its natural cask strength of 40.2% and at natural colour, this single malt is rich and aromatic with notes of maple syrup, sticky toffee pudding, spiced fruits and banana bread. The silky palate is sweet and warming with hints of chocolate ganache, Black Forest gateau, Manuka honey, dried figs and gingerbread. The finish is complex and long-lasting with lingering flavours of fruit cake, cappuccino, black cherry and candied pecans.
