Tomintoul 1966 Bourbon Cask 6077

Tomintoul 1966 Bourbon Cask 6077

ABV:

40%

| Vol:

70cl

Cask No. 6077 was laid down in October 1966 under the watchful eye of Islay Shaw, Tomintoul’s very first distillery manager. The specially commissioned bourbon barrel made from American oak staves by a local Speyside cooperage, has yielded only 79 bottles of remarkably rich and complex single malt.

This single cask whisky is hand-filled into individually numbered crystal decanters. This is a truly unique and rare bottling from Tomintoul Distillery.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Overlapping aromas of bright stone fruits, almond foam, Danish pastries, honeydew melon and kumquat cushioned with Chantilly cream, pear compote and sweet spices.

Palate

A wash of cooked peach and apricot jam followed by toasted fennel seeds, muscovado sugar and coffee cake, bound with elegant hints of allspice, nutmeg and cedar.

Finish

Lovely and warming with impressions of ginger biscuits, maple pecan pie, dates and mocha fading into a gentle cinnamon and spiced pear linger.
